Skills in focus: Making observations, collecting data, graphing data, interpreting data
Monday, August 18- Share and discuss photos from Photo Hunt previous class. Review basic principles of classification and ecology. Work on learning styles presentations. Students should retrieve last year's science binder from classroom. These will not be kept in the classroom this year.
Tuesday, August 19- Work on learning styles presentations. Review and create various graphs using class data. Types of graphs include: pictograph, line graph, bar graph, and pie chart.
Wednesday, August 20- Present learning styles projects in class. Continue creation of class graphs.
Thursday, August, 21- Present learning styles projects. Begin discussion of Seasons Project. Complete any graphs yet to be completed.
Friday, August, 22- Students will take photos and videos of organisms in the outdoor lab. These will be compiled in a video project using the app iMovie. The video will be created over the course of the year. The emphasis will be the changes that can be observed in organisms as they respond to seasonal changes in their environment.
